News from Delaware County Community College (DCCC)
The Uniquely Abled Academy (UAA) is an innovative career training program designed to empower neurodiverse individuals – such as those on the autism spectrum – by preparing them for skilled employment in the manufacturing sector.
This 16-week program combines hands-on instruction in Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machining with job readiness training, including soft skills development and interview preparation.
Graduates of the program often earn industry-recognized certifications, such as OSHA Safety Certificates and National Institute for Metalworking Skills (NIMS) credentials, qualifying them for entry-level positions like CNC operator.
